Classically trained by nature.  Driven by desire.  Curious about everything.

Kim Soles Photography

Kim Soles converges images of nature, people and architecture. Overlaying, splicing, combining and adapting images to portray her vision are accomplished through graphic manipulation. Twenty-five years ago, she used photo oils to color and enhance black and white photographs, pressed negatives together before printing, and layered 35mm slides, capturing similar effects. After transitioning to digital, the loss of surprise from not developing film led her to engage deeper into graphic techniques to reveal unexpected results. The dreamlike depictions of her work portray imagery of forests that mirror, melt and swirl together limbs, trunks and earth. She uses skin as a poetic veil to expose trees and flora, depicting her reflection of the human connection to the natural world. Ms. Soles is a mother of a teenager, an art photographer, designer, writer, graphic artist and teacher of art and nature. Her inspiration comes from the natural world where color, patterns and light inform her creativity. Her work is available for purchase for private and public venues. Contact: solescreates@gmail.com
